Ling Marketing was started
in Oxfordshire in 1992 as a small Business Development
Consultancy, following 20 years of entrepreneurial Business
Development and Sales & Marketing success by Andrew Ling within
International companies from the Glass Packaging, Wine / Spirit
/ Beverage, Food, Hospitality and Recycling Industries.
Relocating to Exeter in 1999
to set up a UK business for an American manufacturer, introduced
us to the South West, with its unique charms and commercial
challenges. It became clear that National and International
trading and distribution can function extremely well from this
unique geographical area, if certain criteria are met. 10 years
on and Ling Marketing has proven many times that the supply
chain, logistical and business requirements of the South West
are no hindrance to running a highly successful national
operation for local companies and overseas parents alike.
Ling Marketing provides
‘hands-on’ advice, support and targeted commercial focus for
medium sized and small businesses. As well as our core business
competency in Food, Beverage and Allied Equipment Industries,
companies from an increasing cross-section of other market
sectors…. Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, Storage, Furniture, Glass
and Retail Merchandising, have all used Ling Marketing’s
particular style of business development services.
An independent company such
as Ling Marketing, coming from outside the normal day-to-day
environment of a typical client’s busy company, can offer a
fresh objective direction to the business and provide a
commercial boost at a critical time. We often become part of the
business for the duration of the contract, working from within
the business, until the successful completion of the contract
and the delivery of the results.
Ling Marketing is NOT a PR
company and does NOT base its business on ‘pure marketing’
theories. We are a broad business development entity, used to
the harsh realities of life at the sharp end of business. We
undertake an assignment in person and are wholly accountable for
its success.
We do not offer remote
advice from the safety of another place, nor produce voluminous,
jargon filled reports. Following an agreed business development
plan, we become deeply involved in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the
business, maximising resources, fine tuning supply lines,
rationalising effort, reducing cost and implementing carefully
targeted sales and marketing strategies.
